Synapse Medical, the company with Australia’s only Medicare integrated billing app (Synapps MBS), and the only automated clinical coding solution (Aircoder) and InfoMedix, the leading supplier of Digital Medical Records within Australia, are delighted to announce a partnership to include a successful integration and joint market offering.
Both companies have been working tirelessly in the Australian digital health space to improve access to key healthcare data across the continuum of care.
Now the offering of both respective organisations has been strengthened by an API integration between the range of InfoMedix solutions and Synapse’s key platforms in the billing and coding space.
Synapse CEO, Margaret Faux, said this was a natural next step for the two organisations, who have known of each other for years, as it creates significant additional benefits for any potential partner hospital. Faux said “InfoMedix are an established choice when a provider is searching for a solution to unlock the data held within dated paper records. Now that provider has the option to use that much improved data to automate billing and coding operations improving cash flow and reducing administrative costs. A real win win.”
The partnership facilitates a significant step forward for any prospective partner hospitals and the two senior executive teams are working on the joint offering to take to market in the coming months. Faux added “This is a very exciting development for us and a key step on our journey to make the revenue cycle and health data collection easier, quicker and immediately available for critical reimbursement and planning purposes.”
InfoMedix is proud to be an Australian owned and operated company with a wealth of experience in delivering software solutions to hospitals since 2000. The range of Infomedix products are now implemented in over 60 sites across Australia in acute, mental health and community healthcare settings. Partnering with Synapse in 2021 seemed like a natural fit that added two key elements to an already impressive suite of electronic services – comprehensive, rules-based billing and automated clinical coding.
InfoMedix Strategic Relationship Manager, Berne Gibbons, said “following the initial conversations on both sides have been working hard to put something in place as it was immediately apparent we had complimentary services. We are delighted to integrate our solutions with the Synapse platforms. The Synapps MBS is the most comprehensive medical billing solution on the market, having recently added hospital billing and IHC claims to its offering. So it just made sense to be able to offer this along with automated clinical coding to future or existing clients. Our InfoMedix framework is perfect for collecting accurate data that can be used to process compliant and accurate payments”.
The integration between the two companies makes valuable healthcare spend, especially in the current Covid era, go further and decreases turnaround times for usually complex, time-consuming areas of clinical practice.
Gibbons added “our interoperability with other solutions made us the perfect choice for Synapse as we allow hospital to move from paper charts to digital records in a minimum of time with minimum change management required. Both companies are committed to being at the forefront of technology trends in the healthcare space”.
InfoMedix CEO, Jeff Smoot commented that this relationship would allow a “co-design approach to ensure meaningful technology solutions for any client as the end user, initially in Australia but with the potential to grow across jurisdictions and using the international offices of Synapse to explore other opportunities”.
This announcement will enhance the possibilities for two of Australia’s leading healthtech lights that will see both organisations continue to grow.
